Thyroid cancer - Radiofrequency - Puncture - Diagnosis - Treatment
A 49-year-old patient arrives for a cytopuncture in the context of suspected thyroid cancer with a nodule classified EU-TIRADS 5.
The control ultrasound shows the presence of a wide hypoechoic range of contours poorly limited with a pseudo-nodular appearance compatible with DE QUERVAIN's subacute thyroiditis.
Inflammatory area localized in the superficial part of the thyroid lobe with a typical aspect of DE QUERVAIN's subacute thyroiditis.

A simple ultrasound control in 6 months was proposed.
The follow-up 6 months later shows almost complete regression of the inflammatory zone and reduction in thyroid volume.

Regression of the inflammatory aspect in 6 months.

Decrease in thyroid volume with regression of the inflammatory aspect.

Volume during the inflammatory episode.

Volume 6 months after the inflammatory episode.
